As the resident Astrologer of iWorshipHer.com, I am excited to contribute my gifts to this call to acknowledge feminine power and the feminine face of God. Patriarchy has run rampant for far too long causing us to forget and devalue the power of women which is contributing to the disharmony and imbalances we see today.

We see an increase in feminine energy being exposed, an increase of images of women in artistic nudes, campaigns for breastfeeding awareness, campaigns for removing taxes from tampons and freeing women of shame related to menstruation. But still it is difficult for many people to adjust to and embrace this shift.

Why is it so difficult to honor women as divine?

Why are so many people still afraid of feminine power?

Why is the idea of women as spiritual leaders so appalling?

When we can see that there is masculine and feminine energy even in the stars, who are we to dishonor the feminine in human form? That’s right even the zodiac signs in astrology are categorized as masculine and feminine as follows:

Feminine signs – Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, Pisces

Masculine signs – Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius, Aquarius

You might now be wondering why zodiac signs in astrology would have masculine and feminine as subdivisions, well not to oversimplify it but it’s the balance, the yin and yang, passive vs. active, giving vs. receiving. Of course both men and women have all of these traits to an extent, so there’s no need to downplay the more “masculine” women then right? Those women that are active, wild, untamed, giving, yang … dark, fiery, and expanding are still divinely feminine. Let’s not continue to oppress femininity and minimize it in way that limits it as only being soft, weak, or docile.

Even though Taurus is a feminine sign, have you ever met a Taurus woman that wasn’t strong? Or a Scorpio woman who wasn’t so deep and intense that you felt intimidated by her mystique? Or a Virgo woman who didn’t put you in your place and make you want to act right?

Yes, women are warriors. Women have strength. Women have always held nations together. So let’s give credit where credit is due and worship her.
