The Temple of the Sacred Spring, LLC, "The Temple", is, first and foremost, a place of emotional and spiritual wellness for African-descended people in America. However, we are much more than that. The Temple is a Goddess/woman-centered worship center. The Temple is intentionally erected as a direct affront to patriarchal, Eurocentric religion. We are, perhaps, the first Temple of its kind in the United States.

 

The Temple is comprised of The Sanctuary and The Institute (formerly called the Institute of Feminine Arts). In the Sanctuary @ The Temple, we gather as a community to focus on spiritual wellness in a way that combines the ancestral, South African tradition of Ngoma with American, Pentecostal expression, which is essentially African. At the Institute @ The Temple, the focus is on emotional wellness. The Institute houses all our therapeutic and training services.

The Founder of the Temple is Rev. Dr. Dionne S. Wood (Gogo uMkhanyakude yase Manzini). Rev. Wood is an ordained minister and Sangoma.
